Rewards program credit cards will not provide an overall benefit if you do not use them correctly. You need to strategise in order to profit from a credit card rewards program. Rather than spending as much as you can, it is better to spend as much as you can repay and not to spend more than you normally would. If you end up spending extra in order to get something from your rewards program, then you may as well have just bought it outright. Avoiding interest and claiming rewards that will add up to be worth more than your annual fee in value is what you need to do in order to profit from a rewards program.
